Water pump studs - do they come off?

I made a display of a front rotor, front housing, and front plate for my dad for Christmas and would love to get the water pump studs off but they refuse to move. Are they fixed or do they just take the vicegrips from hell?

they do come off. I would screw in a nut all the way in, tighten it, then screw in another to lock it in. Then you should be able to turn the first nut and therefore unscrew the stud

yeh, this is how I got all the ACV and a bunch of other studs off my new motor before I put it in.

Update

Well, originally I had a clock to drop into the rotor's stationary gears for my dad's display. He'd rather have the e-shaft and pulley so he could play vroom vroom at his desk, so now I have the clock. Once I find a job with a desk with which to utilize my clock, I'll take time to show people that it crapped a seal and chewed on it for a little while. Every face of the rotor has either scars or deposits and the housing is trashed. Pretty cool stuff for a boring 'ol clock.
