Question Custom GSL-SE Turbo?

Has anyone done a custom turbo setup on a gsl-se. I had been trying to do this when my car was wrecked (by my freind) and have not found any current kits(i know about the cartech kits but those dont exactly grow on trees) or anyone with a detailed build up on it. If anyone has info on it please post it as i am currently looking for another GSL-SE and really want a turbo for it.
P.S I know turboII swaps are great but i really dont want to do all that.
Sorry if this topic has already been covered but i searched and didnt find much.

its more work to make a custom kit for a gsl-se motor. dave randhall did a saw and had to make a adaptor for a the turbo manifold to fit on the block. it can be done but imo its easier to do a turbo motor.

You'll find that a T2 engine swap would be less hassle.

Contact ItzWeapon on the forum. He had a very nice custom GSL-SE 6-port 13B Turbo, using the GSL-SE engine.

Here is a pic.

Be careful, he gets sad when he remembers he sold her.

too bad it doesn't show the engine bay. I rather have a TII engine in my car though then a 6port turbo'd. When will people realize thats pretty much the best option? (in my eyes at least) Cheaper then trying to be cheap with the stock SE engine.

Depends really. He had a nice healthy low mileage and streetported engine already.

All he needed was the exhaust manifold, a Turbo, a wastegate, aBOV, an intercooler with piping, a couple of new injector bungs, and and a Haltech F9. Ran low 12's.
He didn't even swap tranny's until much later.

Where he is from (New Yaaark) TII swaps were common into everything. He wanted it to see the "RE-EGI" intake to give it the stock look.

Not the way I 've gone, but he had a nice fast car to begin with. I had a nice, stock, high milelage engine that would've needed an instant rebuild with the onset of boost.

What i would really like to find it a cartech kit (like david lane's) http://www.winisp.net/gsl-se/turbosemain.htm but those are far and few between so maybe a TII swap is the best way to go as there seems to be a lot of info on it and it would be emissions legal. Thanks for the input.
I get sad to because i sold mine to my friend oh yeah he wrecked no wait i get pissed. Just had a new trick paint job and everything. Damn him

Better check that emissions leagality issue where you are, some places the T2 wont pass the visual. some places it will, then PEOPLE are pretty picky...

The T2 engine should pass visual IF you do a complete swap including the complete emissions system. Your car would then be considered to be a T2 as far as emissions is concerned.

Of course, while Ohio has some strange smog laws, one thing we are fortunate to have is a LACK of a visual inspection. Just plug the sniffer in the tailpipe, run it on the rollers, make sure the gas cap holds pressure, and you're good for two more years.
