is this cruise control?

is this cruise control?

ive been working on my project and am working on the electrical now. i was just curious as to what this was. some kind of control for something im sure.it has 2 hose ports on the top of it for vacumm i belive. i checked out the electrical manual and it didnt even show it there for my year. also i dont see any cruise control switches of any type on the inside

it looks like an aftermarket cruise control unit. the oem unit has a bracket attatched to it for mounting purposes and the end of the cable where it hooks onto the carb is different than what yours is showing. the oem unit's end will be horizontal where yours is vertical.

Yup, that does look to be a cruise control vacuum canister. (Almost) Same as the one on my SE, however, I do have the switches for it. When you followed the wiring, did it lead into the cabin of the car?

i wish the car were mine. its a beautiful car!! i've always wanted a sunbeam silver SE. i have a very nice sunbeam silver 84 GSL with 55K. i'll post some more pics of the SE. the SE is owned by a friend in Columbus. i bought a car off of him this past summer. the car was a tender blue 85 S.

yeah the wires did go through the engine bay and that stock one looks totaly different! it does have a mounting bracket but it mounted onto the other side from the stock one. thanks again for the help guys. btw those silver rx-7's look awsome.
