Cross Threaded Spark Plug Hole

I am afraid I cross threaded the T1 spark plug hole. Engine has not run in years and working on getting it running again. Pulled the plugs this evening and they were really hard to get out. Then I went to put new ones in and the first one I tried was T1. It immediately wouldn't thread in by hand so I put the socket on it and gave it about two full turns before I realized it was probably cross threaded. Other three went in fine.

Is there anything I can do to remedy this problem?

Try a spark plug chaser. Cover the threads with motor oil and dont go too deep.

Tyr cleaning them out first by chasing it, but if it's truly stripped (the threads are gone-pulled out) your best recourse is to install a thread insert. They make ones specifically for spark plug threads. The problem is keeping the chips and debri from falling inside the rotor. Best advice is to take it slow and in multiple small steps being extra careful and patient. Run it in a partical turn, take it back out and carefully remove the chips. Repeat multiple times as necessary. Not a situation where you just reach for a bigger hammer.

Thanks guys! I have never heard of either of these tricks. The threads don't appear to be too rough so hopefully the chaser will do the trick.

Last time I put a wrench on a spark plug before it is well into the hole!

Yep, if it doesn't thread in by hand, theres a problem that needs to be solved. Hopefully you
can reverse the issue easily.
