CP Racing Rack Conversion Kit

I am considering getting the Stage 2 79-85 Mazda Rx7 Rack Conversion Kit by CP Racing. I was wondering if anyone has one and what they think. Should I get one?

Discount?

I am interested too, but I think I should get one hell of a discount if I trade in that thing they called a "kit" that I bought, installed, and removed 2 months later. Also, is it still using a VW rack? If so forget it....

I might be a tad behind the times, but the last I heard the Stage 2 R&P kit blocked the oil drain bolt from being removed. There was a post (not from CP Racing) saying that the rack had been modified to correct this, and that Stage 2 owners could get the corrected part if they asked for it.

I have the newest, latest revision of the kit.
No problems with the oil drain plug (although the steam of oil hits the frame and makes a bit of a mess)

Handles AWSOME. Still stock lock to lock for turning, but other than that, it is an upgrade in EVERY WAY....

If I find my digicam in the morning I'll take pics...

Any word on some of the safety issues raised vis a vis the collapsible steering wheel?

No, there is still no collapsible steering column, but to be honest, it's not a huge concern to me.

The column is quite short, and unless I got into an accident bad enough to deform the firewall, I don't see there being enough column in the engine bay to push the steering wheel into me.
And if I got into an accident bad enough to deform the firewall, the steering column would likely NOT be my biggest concern...

Plus I figure the improved handling actualy INCREASE my margin of safety as the better steering response makes it more likely I'd be able to avoid any serious accidents.
