Could This Be Caused From Something Internal?
I Have An 84 Stock 12a And I Just Got Timming Fixed, Timming Seemed To Have Resolved My Glowing Header Problem. Been Having Carb Problems Ever Since I Got The Car A Yr Ago, Damn Thing
Wants To Keep Filling Up Primaries After Shut Off. My Vent Solenoid Valve Never Had Worked The Plunger Thing Inside Has Been Removed. Ive Cleaned Out The Card A Dozen Times, Cleaned Fuel System, And The Carb Just Needs A Rebuilt Kit , Which I Cant Afford. Thecar When I Get It Running, Damn Near Purrrrrrssss Almost Perfect Idol, Anyways When I Shut It Off Yesterday I Heard A Gurgling Sound Comming From Under The Hood, Was Pretty Faint, Thought It Might Be Coolant Boiling Alittle, Turned To Be Primariesw Were Still Pumping Small Amouts Of Fuel, When I Looked Down In Carb , It Looked Like The Gas Was Boiling, So To Speak, It Was Bubbling Like Water Does When It Heated Past Boiling Point. It Looked As If Air Was Being Forced, So To Speak Througfh The Fuel On The Back (closest To Firewall) Barrel, Which Was What Was Causing That Gurgling Sound I Heard.......most Of These Problems I Can Fix On My Own, But I Just Dont, And Have Never Seen. This Happen In The Top Of A Carb Before........could There Be Something More Serious Inside My Motor Thats Causing This To Happen? Is It Just A Carb Problem>? And Could Anyone, Can Tell Me What This Is And If Its Caused By Something Internal? Any Replies Would Be Appreciated
Thx, Reignman

A couple of things for you:
1. Get your vent solenoid working properly, even if you need to replace it with another used one. This is most likely the cause of your issue.
2. Use capitol letters only where required. Capitolizing every word in a sentence is a little thing, but can cause headaches when people are trying to read about your issue.

When I first started trying to revive my '83 12A (after sitting for 13 years) I had the same problem. This was after the carb was rebuilt. I was dealing with 2-3 other problems that may have been contributing to the flooding: 1) air vent solenoid wasn't working (at least consistently); 2) gunk in the carb from a dirty fuel tank; 3) charcoal canister inlet stopped up. I cleaned the carb bowls, drilled out the charcoal canister inlet, and removed the air vent solenoid plunger. The last thing I did seemed to have fixed the flooding problem.

This exact same thing happened to me and what i did was take the top of the carb off and just wiggle the floats because they were stuck and it has worked perfectly ever since then.
