Cosmo Intake Pics
Since I'm waiting for some parts to put my engine back together, I decided to share some pics of my Cosmo parts. I disassembled my throttlebody, discarded some unnecessary parts, filled in the idle port, smoothed the inlet side, and polished the outside. I filled, smoothed, polished, and Extrude Honed the upper and lower intake manifolds. The Extrude Hone is expensive, but the results are usually very good. A friend picked up 5% in peak torque and HP, and I think his results are typical for a cast long runner intake.
BTW -- if you disassemble your throttlebody, take lots of pics -- it makes the reassembly much easier.

The added fitting on the LIM is just a threaded boss to retain my turbo oil supply line. It's so big because it was the only size aluminum stock I had laying around.

I ground it off with a belt sander, then used a long board to diagonally sand it smooth -- like doing body work. It was kind of a joke in the house because I would do it sitting on the floor, sanding block in hand, while watching TV with the family. Everybody was used to the sound.
