Corbeau's in an SA?
Has anyone mounted either Corbeau A4's, CR1's or LG1's in their '79 to "84 RX7. If so, were there any fitment concerns or tips you can share. Spring is on the way and I gotta order soon for my '79.
Cheers

Corbeaus
Tom,
I have A4s in mine, fit perfect. I may be selling them as I bought some old school recaros.
The only issue u may run into the the passenger rail. You may have to slot it.

What finish do you have on yours, cloth, micro suede or leather?
How do they stand up?
How was the height? I am using a "Wink" wide angle rear view mirror and am concerned the passenger seat will cut down on the view. Was thinking of having Corbeau cut a inch off the base.
The wife thinks I should get cloth cause the old girl has no air con and leather can get sticky.
Really like the LG1, but have not heard of anyone using them.
Just recieved my new moulded carpet and really looking forward to making the interior look as good as the outside.
Cheers

Hi Tom - my experience, based on installing a set of RX8 seats. These did NOT just bolt in. If the Corbeaus are around the same weight as your stock seats, then the OE rails, which by now you have prob figured out, just bolt right off, might be usable on the new seats, which is important because, for me at least, the LAST thing I wanted to do was monkey-in some alternate style of bracket that forced me to redrill mounts, etc into the car's floor. If you haven't already noted, the PASSENGER INNER rail tucks up much tighter to the seat bottom due to the floor being raised there for the exhaust system. so, some thoughts:
-On aftermarket seats this usually means the new seat must sit quite high to perch on the raise floor. This can make passenger headroom unacceptable for anyone over, say, 5'5" (don't ask me what that is in metric....)
-the configuration of the new seat bottom may not permit just bolting the rail directly to it. My RX8 seats were slightly wider, so I had to fabricate an intermediate plate that each would mount to to maintain correct spacing between the 2 rails. = weight, and a bit of height.
-finally, due mostly to the RX8 seats being MUCH heavier (they collapsed the OE rail eventually) - I shopped around and bought aftermarket rails. Rather than being 2 independent rail strips as stock, these were a proper rectangular frame (ie one-piece). pricey at some $90-150 but made the RE-install much easier 2nd time around! Now, when I say aftermarket, I mean RX7-spec rails for 79-85 RX7s, not a generic frame, which, if it fit at all, would likely need some serious mods.
Best o' luck

Thanks for the response, Stu!
I had mounted one OMP seat back in the early eighties and the son of a gun had it's bolts in the exact same place as the stock seat! How lucky was that? I suspect some modification 2 B sure for the next set.
