Opinion on CORBEAU A4 Seats

Hi all,

My 86 sport has torn 87 cloth seats (the ones with a separate head rest, not the base model one piece units). I'm thinking of upgrading the drivers seat, instead of having them recovered (I don't find them too comfortable). I did do a search, and read a lot of the posts, but I was wondering if anyone has an opinion on the CORBEAU A4 seats. Corksports website says this is a good seat if you are concerned about getting as much head room as possible. Right now, when I autocross, my helmet is up against the roof (I'm 5'10, and the car has NO sunroof).

I'm looking for a seat that is comfortable for my one hour commute per day, and that does not impact head room. is the CORBEAU A4 decent? or should I look at even pricer seats? I'm pretty skinny, so I think I'll fit in the seats OK. The one thing with the CORBEAU is that Corksport sells the mounting brackets, which I know is usually the problem installing in an FC.

Thanks in advance,

Mark

i was looking to get those but i sat in one and didn't like it. and i've read the opposite... people complain about less head room becuase the seats seem to mount higher than stock seats. my choice would be recaros. they come stock in the evo, integra type r and some other cars so i've seen them around pretty cheap.

I was looking through the newest issue of Euro Tuner and they had a little article on it.

Looks like a great looking seat for a really good price too.

Remember, you're going to have to modify the seat rails to get everything to work for the FC...

I've got an NEX seat, and I love it. I honestly don't know where to get them, as it came with the car. It is a fiberglass seat and weighs 11 lbs. It sits quite low - my dad, who is 6'7", doesn't have a problem with headroom, only leg room. It is quite comfortable, even on 3-4 hour trips to Houston. I also think its fairly cheap to buy. If I find a link, I'll post it.

I'm sure you can find it cheaper if you look around, this was just the first place I found.

Thanks all for the information.

MrSparkle: Recaro seats are very nice. But what about a bracket? Would I have to fabricate something myself (Recaro does not offer a bracket for the FC).

I'll be heading to Portland this weekend and my stop by Corksport to see if they have any Corbeau's for a quick butt check.

a friend of mine got his recaros out of an evo and put them in his fc and got brackets through his work. if you want more info on the brackets send me a pm and i'll give you his number.

another thing i didn't like about the corbeau was the material... i'll just say it didn't look or feel like the best quality.
