Coolant Gauge

Hey Guys,

I've got a question, where exactly should the temp gauge get to when it's 'warmed up' because mine varies and its actually starting to drink a little bit of coolant.

I just recently scored a 0-60 MPH at 9.21 (with wet roads, big improvement over a 11.23) on a gtech so.

Where should the gauge needle be at?

I never seen my stockers go past 1/2. I cant remember what it represents, as in degrees, as I havent driven my RXs in the past 2 months. They are just collecting dust and dirt.

Mine got to the white arrow earlier today but I flipped on the heater and revved it up to get the fan going...I think it's time for a e-fan...

e-fan is good but if ur radiator is clogged, should get that fixed also. get it rod-out to clean out the debris/build-up inside the cores.

I know the rad needs to be flushed bad! The contents on the underside of the cap is usually a mucky brown :S.

rad flushing aint gonna do it. tell them you want a "ROD OUT". The shop has to un-braze the top and lower caps, then soak in the hot water tank, and clean each hole (the ones you see when you remove the radiator cap) with a long-thin metal.

Well,

How much would it costs to get a new rad? My stepdad saw my rad and said it was pretty damn bad and I should just get a new one.

Most of the 1st and 2nd gens I've had sit between your blue and red arrows. If mine gets past the red, I start to worry and checking things.

Why are you topping it off? If you have a leak, fix it. Low or lost coolant is the quickest way to lose your engine, it's not a boinger.
