Continual Fuse Blowing

Ok i finally installed my cd player! Anyways I turn my car on (at night so i turn my lights on too) Well as soon as i do the fuse blows and i can't unflip my lights. The bulbs turn off but the lights remain up. So i replaced the fuse with 10A as specified. I turn my lights on again they blink on for a second then blow. It seems that fuse keeps on being over whelmed and dies. If i replaced the fuse with like 15 or 20A would that keep it from blowing?

You have a SHORT,somewhere...Do not Put a Higher amperage Fuse in.It WILL NOT fix the problem. It will Make More problems!..The Fuse was put there to Protect the circuit.Putting in a Higher amperage Fuse in there is like Taking the Kevlar out of a Bullet Proof Vest..No more Protection!.It sounds like you put Your CD player On the Light circuit...if that isn't it then you should take a look at the wiring for your lights. Also Check to see IF anything is touching where you Installed the CD player.Especially the Cigarette lighter(source of Shorting,Previous Reading of shorts!)..I am thinking it could be related ..something is touching.

I had this very same problem the first time I put a head unit in an Rx-7. It confused the hell out of me. You've connected your stereo ground to the illumination wire in the harness. It normally shows continuity to ground but when you turn the lights on it becomes 12v+ and shorts out through the body of the stereo. Run your ground directly to the body.

the pink wire that says Illumintation isnt not even connected to anything i even taped it off. So maybe that needs plugged in? Or do i run the wire directly into the body?

That's not what I mean. There's a wire in the FACTORY stereo harness that seems to be ground but becomes 12v+ when you turn the lights on. It sounds like you've connected your ground to that wire. Run it directly to the body instead.

oh ok this would make sense. We took the part of the factory wire connector plug off the original radio and used it as an a adpater to the new stereo. so i need to run one of those wires to the body so it wont become a 12v+ when i turn my lights on. their are three wires a red yellow and black. Is the yellow the ground?

Run the black wire from the stereo directly to ground.
