Hi everyone,

I dont know wtf happened tonight but i was driving up to a stop sign and i was in neutral. As i put the car in gear my clutch went down easier than normal and i couldent switch into any gear other than reverse and when i did my car sputtered off and my foot was still on the clutch... I dont know what happened guys but you all seem to know what ur talkin about so ive decided to ask you before i ask a mechanic because he will probley **** me over. I dont know if it matters but my car is a 1980 Rx. Thanks Friends

have someone push your clutch in while you look at the pin that is on top of your tranny. if that is not movin then rebuild your slave and get a new master

I believe prior threads recomend replacing both slave and master at the same time if either one is at a minimun on its way out.

if you have a simple leak in a hydralic line that is a separate issue, repair the leak - blead system and refill.

if you find nothing wrong here and the fork section that interfaces with the slave freely pivots either by hand or with the slave only,,,,,, then the fork is probably your next focus for where the fault is.

its not as hard as it seems

clutch
You have lose clips on your clutch fork,it looks like you have to pull your tranny out.that why your clutch does not engage when you depress the pedal.

yea replace both clutch and slave, also get a new clutch line. i just did mine and it was fairly easy, just took a little bit of time taking out the old components.

From first hand experiance, master and slave are allways the problems :P I've done 2 rx7s now that shops around town said needed entirely new clutches and transmissions, and all was required was a bleed!!

I use fish tank tubing to fit over the nipple and a bottle of dot 3. Works every time. However, if after a few bleeds it still gets bad again, then you need all new parts. Google Rock auto, and the parts come to about 100 bucks american for brand new master, slave and hydrolic hosing.
