i had problems with my cluth when i first got my 7 so i rebuilt the clutch master and bleed system of all air..(that was about 2months ago) got my car home from friends house noticed before i left the master level fluid was about halfway so i topped it off...no leaks in his driveway or never were in my driveway either and i went out there today and my master was dry and i had no clutch....where could the leak be if theres no fluid at ALL!! and its magicly leaking....i bought a rebuild kit for the slave but couldnt do it because i thought it was gunna be to hard ect.....

If you have no signs of leaking, externally, check the carpet behind the pedals. If it's wet, you have a bad clutch master. Even some of the new ones can go bad. If that is the case, check your warranty and replace both the master and the slave. Could be the slave is binding and making the master work harder than needed, causing early failure.
It's always best to replace both master and slave together. Saves a lot of headaches. Check your soft line going to the slave, it may need replacing as well.

is your master rusting and old? maybe if it is then its leaking someplace you cant see. or maybe your hydrolic cable is warn out too..sorta had the same problem here my master was rusting internally so it was messed up even though i rebuilt it had to get a new master.

It is mounted to the top of the tranny by 2 bolts. 12mm IIRC. As far as new or re-build. I really don't know what to tell you there. I built mine, but it was only like $3 cheaper to do it that way. It isn't as expensive as the master. About $15 new.

if you ever get to your slave cylinder and remove the rubber boot chances are that's where your fluid is. If you look on the bellhousing of the tranny you may/should see where the fluid has been leaking down. My se slave busted a few days ago when i was backing out the driveway.. hooray for a parts car.

in the book they call it a clutch release cylinder instead of slave...so i need to disconnect those two bolts slide the unit towards the front of the car unitll a rod like falls out?? then pull it outward catching the spilling fluid and then disconnect the rubber clutch hose....then put the new one by screwing the clucth hose onto it slipping onto the spot tighting the 2 screws down and bleeding the system.....................easier said then done

just take the 2 bolts out and pull the whole thing up so you can unscrew the line from up top. the rod shouldn't fall out with the rubber boot still intact. it's just getting it off that's a pain in the ****..

Yup I had the same thing happen. The mystery leak soaked the carpet in the footwell. Ive never had luck rebuilding them either. Replace both and save the headache. It's not expensive. Get rebuilt ones from Autozone. Lifetime warranty.
