Question clutch hydraulics...

so i hopped in my car this morning and pressed the clutch in to start and it went to the floor... sucky. i grab a bottle of brake fluid i have and go to top it off but there isnt any fluid missing. i pump the pedal and it regains pressure. drive off to work and i would have to pump the pedal every 5 miles or so or i loose pressure again. at lunch i come out and still all fluid is there and i dont see any leaks. i bleed it anyway. repeating the procedure about 10 times and it feels nice and firm again. then on my way home i lost pressure again.. so what broke? i have full fluid and its not discolored. i dont see any leaks and it seems to be holding pressure better but i dont want it to stick me somewhere. ideaS?

Could be a master cylinder problem. I think I had that same problem, so I ended up replacing both master and slave cylinder. Problem solved.

Yep, most likely the seals in the master are leaking by.

Yes, it was my master and I decided to replace the slave while I was at it. I also installed a braided stainless steel clutch line, too.

Check the slave. Its located on the top of the transmission and with 2 bolts its comes off. I had the same issue and I thought it was the entire slave. Just check the cylinder inside the slave and see if it has a good seal. The replacement is like $8 at autozone and it fixed it for me.

I had the same problem going on... pedal would go to the floor and not return, but only after I had the car parked up for a good 4 days or so. I'd pump it up and she'd feel fine again.

Just replaced my slave cylinder this morning. I couldn't see the leak until REAL close inspection but the fluid was slowly coming out from inside the little boot that covers the pushrod. Pedal now feels MUCH better..

I got my braided line off of eBay. I think it went for $30.
