Centerforce DOES have a clutch for this. I know for a fact cause I was looking at ordering a dual friction for my 82 with the 215mm flywheel.

Ah, you measured it. The pressure plate looks to me like a new 225mm. I must assume your flywheel is one of the early 215mm-only units. The later light steel and aluminum flywheels from Racing Beat are compatible with 215mm and 225mm - the friction surface must be 225mm, there need to be at least three clearanced cutouts along the uppermost rim of the flywheel to clear the three lever arm spring attachment rivits which hold the the pressure plat efriction surface to the pressure plate spring, and you must purchase a special bolt kit specific to either the aluminum or light steel flywheel. The special bolt kit includes spacers and longer bolts which make up for the step difference.

If none of what I just said makes any sense, don't worry about it. Your flywheel is most likely 215mm only, as I suspect.

Could you flip it over and take a picture of the business side? A picture would tell me plenty.

A brand new stock clutch I found laying around. Same size as the one that came off the car.

Centerforce definitely makes a clutch for 215. I got the stage II setup on my 82 flywheel. I might have gotten it thru mazdatrix but I can't remember just now.

Thanks for posting pics. You definitely have a 215mm flywheel. Welcome to the club.

The pressure plate pictured on that site is a generic image. It is too large for your flywheel. You need to get a 215mm pressure plate and 215mm disc.

I too have too many 225mm pressure plates and disks, and not enough 215mm pressure plates and discs. I'm forced to use a 225mm disc with a rare 215mm pressure plate on my incompatible RB light steel flywheel. It looks like your aluminum one except it has a wear surface that will fit up to a 225mm disc, but the upper lip will only support a 215mm pressure plate because it lacks the clearancing cutouts.

You can see the difference here.

The one on the left will support a 225mm pressure plate if you get the long bolt set with the spacers seen on the flywheel page of the Mazdatrix webpage. The one on the right will only support 215mm. Both flywheels can fit a 225mm disc, but if you use one on the right, there will be a 5mm gap.

I decided to snap some photos of the incompatbile RB flywheel, a 225mm disc and a 215mm pressure plate, and the resulting 5mm lip. Posted for educational purposes only.

markusj08, I suspect the above doesn't concern you since your flywheel only fits 215mm discs, but it looks like you also need a ring gear too so good luck in your pursuits.

What is the difference between the race clutch cover and stock.
Do you need the race one or can u buy a race pressure plate and use a stock cover?

Puck is a nono for the street. Also why do you want to use a race pressure plate? What racing class are you in?

clutch disc = clutch plate
pressure plate = clutch cover

I only use the former terms to avoid confusion.

You want to get the Racing Beat street strip pressure plate, a stock disc and you're on your own for the bolt set since I don't know whether you need through-bolts to hold the pressure plate to the flywheel, or just stock bolts like in the case of a light steel flywheel as seen above.

I have stock flywheels out my *** but i want to use this one ofcorse. so if end comes to end i can just use stock. I wanted the race one because it can handle more power and i want to be able to use it on my monster bridgeport when it is done.
