I found a really good video describing which clutches do what. Why a pressure plate has those metal spikes inside the circle.

Its good for a clutch newbie like me, I figured other newbies would like it.

See without this video, from what i was informed, any pack type clutch is not meant to be street driven. Nice to know that you can get the 4 puck with kevlar to work good on street. Also wasn't sure about the puck type heat dissipation idea. I still don't understand that one. If the pucks are constantly rubbing against the flywheel, how does it really cool? Wouldn't cutting slots into the flywheel (to act like a slotted rotor) work better? as air is then getting inbetween the flywheel and the clutch pack, to actually cool the pack down? Or in other words since brakes and clutches are really doing the same thing, how would having 4 brake pads help reduce the off the rotors?

I guess since it it is grabbing stronger. In that time it takes it to grab it spins over a spot but the spot gets a breif second of cooling but with a all around circle it would just cause constant friction.


Kind of like rubbing your hand up and down your arm as fast as you can it gets a breif moment of not hurting. But with arm to arm... I guess.
