for normal street driving the Daikin/Exedy clutch can be bought online for less than $150 and are actually pretty good. In fact, the mild performance clutch that rx7.com sells is just that exept it'll cost you 50 bucks more to get it from them.
I just need one for normal street driving with a stock 12A. Anyone else use the autozone/advance auto parts clutches? The price is right, but I don't want to have to swap it every year or so.
so if you can get the Daiken/Exedy clutch, but should buy it from someone other than rx7.com, where CAN you get it for the lesser price? I'm interested
I'm a little confused as to why you quoted my comment on the Victoria British clutch kit, then complained about the Autozone clutch mentioned in a separate post.

There is an exedy clutch on ebay right now for $110 +20 shipping. Other than that, I think you can get them from clutchmasters.com and a few other online retailers. They also have the "performance" one at a decent price.

I guess I'm pretty lucky working in an auto parts store, I get the "employee discount", but over the counter a NEW clutch set (cover, disc, t/o bearing, pilot bearing, and alignment tool) from Autospeciality will run about $120.00.... and read, they are NEW , not reman. They seem to (so far) hold up really well to abuse (mine)!

getting about time to replace the clutch in my Rex, so this is of great interest to me.
I wonder how the eBay 5 piece kit compares to the VB one or other aftermarket ones? These guys have a $129 "buy it now" price - is that fair market value in the US for this part?

mwpayne, manntis,
Check out http://www.autospecialty.com/ . They produce clutch sets, cables, brakes (even their Powerstop and Big brake kits), even steering and suspension.
I know, I know,.... I don't like to advertise either, but this company has done right by me on every level..
Find ANY parts house that deals with them, and if you hear any bad reviews, dont buy.. but I'll bet you won't find any....
