California Emmisions on GSL-SE?

I may be purchasing a GSL-SE from out in California. Does anyone know what different emmision equipment and conrols appear on CA cars vs. the standard 49 state vehicles? Anyone know the impact on weight, horsepower, or performance? Thanks...

I don't live in CA but I don't really think there was a difference on CA cars made back in '84-'85. I don't think they started making stricter changes to the CA cars until later years.

I thought california emmisions cars (rx-7) have caps on the air/fuel screws so you can't tamper with them?

I think that caps or resin is set at the factory. I know that a few screws were coverd at the factory so you won't mess with them. But the prior owners of my '84 GSLSE thought they were smart enough to remove and mess with the factory settings. So the caps are long gone. I can still see peices of the old resin still next to some of the screws. Can't remember which. I think the airflow meter was one.

the california cars do not have the sub zero starting assist. the screws were sealled at the factory, the only ones you shold be using are the idle speed, and mixture ones
