Clutch Adjustment

I just replaced my clutch and PP. Used stock clutch and a racing exedy PP. My clutch now engages pretty much at the floor.

If I adjust the master rod on the pedal will that actually help this issue? If not what is the solution?

Have you tried bleeding the hydraulics? I think if there is air in there it would make it engage more quickly.

If you are confidant there are no issues with the master or slave, then I would adjust the rod, it should raise the engagement point.

I can tell you why the pedal engages so low on your setup. It is due to the way the strong pressure plates are sprung. If you don't like it, go ahead and adjust it up, which should help.

For what its worth, I always adjust a clutch pedal when changing a clutch set or clutch hyd. I like to set the "friction zone" as high as I can, in other words, I adjust the pushrod so it can just barely wiggle without actually pushing the master piston.

Mazda's are the only cars I've seen with adjustable clutch pedals (but I'm no expert, just a hobbyist).

My rule of thumb since ive done many installs. Pressure plate with dual diapram (spell check pls lol) or above 2500 lbs, 99% will require adjustment on the pedal push rod or slave cylinder (for old school only).

Thanks guys. I'll adjust the pedal today and hopefully that helps. I really don't like it catching just off the floor.
