clogged tank lines

ok, traced my inability to get fuel to the carb to the metal main and return lines for the tank. The guy left a little over half a tank in there though he thought he ran it out. so its left a "sludge" on the bottom and clogged the tubes with either goo or rust. i was going to put liquid wrench down the tubes and let that eat out the clog. what do you guys suggest?

If you need a gas tank, I've got one that I'd sell cheap.

if your tank is very clean and shiney inside, u can just replace the pickup lines inside the tank that have the fuel level thing on it,,,,tank MUST be free from any rust, believe me, it will clog the fuel filter in no time while driving, the rust particals are very small, i had to keep spare filters and wail for the car to start sputtering and then i knew it was time to stop and crawl under the rear end and replace filter,,,,i found a recently junked 7 at the local bone yard and pulled the tank, 25 bucks,,,,good luck,,,,,,,

the tank isn't that bad. its mainly the three welded in lines and the line running the under belly is a little restricted too. i shot some pb down the tank lines to eat at any rust or goo in there and i'm going to get some wire and an air compressor to try and force it out. today i'll spray som pb down the main under belly line and try to eat some **** out of there. my freind suggetsed liquid drano. despite laughing, its a thought. wonder how potent that stuff is? i have a filter at the tank and then one before the carb to catch any "extras" that come out of the under belly line. both are the performance fuel filters so i can see how clogged they are and replace the element instead of the whole filter. that about sums up my position on the clog. now how in the hell do i clean up the goo on the bottom? i need some that will dissolve it yet not hurt the tanks finish.
