clogged cat

How do you know if the cat is clogged ( insert dumb feline joke here). My 82 has lost power going up hills, I have replaced the fuel filter and pump, I need to do the ATF thing, but will use MMO instead. I'm just wondering if it is the cat. By the way it's an automatic with 63000 miles

A clogged cat will inhibit rpm above a certain point. This "top" rpm will be the same in any gear because it is looking at exhaust flow, which is greater as rpms increase.

just take the cat off, rotary engines do sooo much better the easier they breath..if that doesn't fix it, then your rotars may be losing compression...
