Classic!!!

Yes the rx-7 became a classic! its 25 years old!!!!!! 1981!!! I totally forgot I had been waiting for this to happen, and then it happened and I didnt realize it. To cool I am driving a classic car now!!! and it looks better than the day I pulled her off the showroom floor for about 11K. I have the bill of sale somewhere, still lists all the goodies and such

me too-

In CT, they're white and black, so they go well with my paint, but they say "Early American" on them, and have a little picture of a model T. Aparently, the people at the DMV are all old muscle car people.

Every "red-blooded" american loves muscle cars. hell so do I, I just got so old I was tired of being scared of corners in my old tempest custom, so I bought the 7 and noticed it was underpowered and got ready to sell it..... but good lord, I could STOP!! all wheel drums just dont compare, some of you like doing the SE conversion for rear discs.... damn it already stops on a dime! and it eats corners like no other. just unfortunately I have built excessively large forearms in turning my car, but my biceps have remained puny, so alas I look like a gorilla.... (J/K lol)

- i. e.- an Rx-7 with about 150 HP is the equivilant of a Tempest, so I'm glad I didnt sell it, although my IROC-Z Camaro was much faster.... but I've just attained a passion for the rotay and everything kinda fell to the side. its not the fastest, best looking, worth the most, or even the best handleing.... but damn its so much fun! lol!

The reason these cars were so popular among auto journalists is because they are so fun to drive. Its true that they aren't the fastest or best handling cars out there, but they give you the feeling that your in a Porsche, for a fraction of the cost of a Porsche. All things aside, they do handle very well, even among todays standards. Put a couple bolt-ons onto a 12A and you'll hang with more than a few of todays sport compacts without too much trouble.

Oh ya, 1 more year till mine is 25 years old. At that point, I can put Historic plates on it, but then I can't "drive" the car. Historic plates in Canada are only good for putting a car in parades and driving to and from car shows, nothing more.

It's true here in Texas. As long as the body is 25 or older you could put a 3000hp small block in and still pass inspection.
