Chronicle of the TII blowthrough FB
Well, I've been trying to get my stuff together to work on this damn thing for awhile now, and i think i'm finally in a position to do so.
This thread will by updated by me over time as i put stuff together and take more pictures.
Here's the run down:
83 gsl
s5 TII drivetrain.
I'm getting the engine out of storage saturday to begin porting (big street port template i got from Ito).
I'll take pics of how that goes
I suppose I'll fill you all in on what has transpired thus far.
I got the 83 for free. engine blown, rather rough, but a decent looking car. started thinking about what to do with it. considered a v8 swap, but then decided on the tII. got the TII engine, tranny, 4 pot calipers, vert bbs rims, etc. and then ran into some financial issues.
The homeowner's association in my area is knuts, had the car towed, i got it out and was at a loss over what to do, i wasn't in a position to do anything to it anytime soon.
then my friend who gave the 7 to me in the first place, asked to have it back to do something with it. favoring that over the grinder, i gave it back to him.
I started saving money to buy a 7 that ran, and then eventually rebuild the s5 for it. i had 4, count em, 4 deals lined up, and sold out from under me. at that same time, my old friend came back, and asked if i wanted the 7 AGAIN. it was at this point i decided i'd take it, and use the money i saved (with some extra
) to rebuild the s5 outright and drop her in.
so that brings me to the present. most notably as of late, i had a bunch of my parts stolen.
I share a storage locker with my step-dad. well, without telling me, he took a whole bunch of my parts out of the locker, and moved them to a rental property of his on the bad side of town. as luck would have it, it got broken into, and all my parts are gone. we're talking an entire fb drivetrain, the tII brake parts, and a host of others. thank God, i held onto the s5 engine and tranny, and vert rims.
those are all that's left.
I'm not going to let that phase me though. I've put this off for too long. I'm a good student, lead an honest, clean life, and damnit, i deserve a freaking rotary!
I'm making a parts thread in the classifieds, if anyone has anything i got ganked from me, please help me out.
otherwise, i hope this thread thrives over the weeks and months.
