Cheap coilover setup

Yeah well, I would love to be able to get the RE-SPEED one, but considering the 3 to 1 currency rate, the taxes and shipping... its a no-no

So, I got a set of ebay subaru impreza coilovers from a friend that didnt like them, and started to work.

I made a grylon bushing, but ended up being too hard to slip over the strut, so I cutted it in two. From there on, everything went well. I used a dremmel on the lower part of the threaded sleeve and trimmed to math the strut part it stands on.

I like the idea, but I don't know if I'd have the confidence to do it. On a scale from "any monkey with the tools could do it" to "you need m4d f4br1c4shun skillz like mine," how hard was it?

hehehehehe

any monkey could do it. you can even use liquid urethane from 3m instead of the bushing I used.

I might have to swap to 5 inch springs later on, but I wanna settle on a spring rate first, and that will be AFTER I get the shocks damped to my liking. If I like the springs I have, I might move the support 2 hinches down and thats about it.

I strongly recommend the RE-SPEED product if you have the money

The ride will be simply...spine shuddering. I have 350Lb's and they're pretty solid so 500Lb is going to be ROCK hard

Don't forget you have much more weight over the front wheels in a Honda plus I'm guessing the car would weigh more than an FB. It's not to change springs if you don't like them anyway

The Miata springs will work. I did it in this thread.

https://www.rx7club.com/1st-generation-specific-1979-1985-18/cheap-suspension-703395/

I have driven and autocrossed on this setup for a few years now and I love it.
