changine my oil and need recommendations

thats stuff is BLACK

I got Castrol GTX 10w-40 and a Mobil1 filter. Sound good?
Also, since MMO was 2 for $3.99 and I can't pass up a bargain like that, I guess I'm going to add some to my oil. Should I do this now or later? I heard on 2nd gen forum that the MMO will cause your oil to dirty much more quickly, so maybe I should hold off until just before my next oil change? I can always pour it in the gas tank this time

Run about 1/2 qt. atf fluid in with your oil for about 30 minutes and then drain it all out. This will clean your engine really good, just dont leave it in there!. I have done this on every car i put head gaskets on and it really works good!. Id doesnt hurt piston engines so your rotory should be fine.

How much oil did ya get?

If the stuff is nasty black, change the oil without changing the filter, refill 1 quart overfull, drive it around a little bit, then do a normal oil change. Doing the pre-change will mix the nasty dirty oil that you can't get out the first time with the new oil, and overfilling it means it'll be diluted even more. (And next time change your oil more often )

edit: yeah that's a good idea with the ATF, too... but if you do it my way you'll be amazed at how dirty the oil gets just from mixing with the old remnants stuck in the rotors and oil cooler! (maybe use ATF for that extra quart?)
