If you are still running the stock mufler, you shouldn't get too much louder. You may feel a little performance gain but not much. The best gain will be with a full exhaust with a header.

alright. Im mostly worried about noise. Cause my Car isnt too pretty, so a loud exhaust wouldn't make the police like me more.

Thanks for the help..

I have no cat in mine. It didn't change the tone at all. I did notice a little better acceleration but not a ton

you won't see a huge difference in power at all. running no converter may be illegal.. a lot of guys run without one anyways and its not a huge deal. i'd just leave it in place. if the exhaust is quiet and the engine runs well, then why mess with it?

Gains are minimal, yes it will get louder, straight piping would be better. Fwiw, IndyParts is buying used main cats for 100+.

Woah woah woah. IndyParts? I will have to look into this. Bonez racing pipe for 81-83=$75, Sell main cat for $100? Sounds perfect to me. Are you sure he buys fb ones too? He only mentions fc's.... I will ask

This is my car stock with gutted cats when it was sitting in the yard for a few months. I'd recommend making a straight pipe and putting it in place of the cat. It sounded pretty good with the stock exhaust minus the cat with a pipe.

I removed the cats from my stock 83 12a and bought the bonez pipe with presilencer. Mild change in tone with the stock muffler (very nice) and along with installing a lighter spring in the secondary diaphragm and a better flowing air filer there was a noticeable power improvement over 6000 rpm and some better midrange.

The bonez pipe was a perfect fitting replacement, heavy steel and better quality than what any muffler shop would do for the same price!

This video was taken in my garage
