There's no reason for increased volume. I 'm scanning your interrogatives quite satisfactorily. I am the voice of Knight Industry 2000's Micro processor, K.I.T.T. for easy reference, KITT if you prefer.

Yeah, but then the car will have to be black, the driver will have to wear super tight wranglers, a black leather members only jacket, Bonnie and Devon will have to be somewhere in the Knight Industries hauler waiting for KITT to come aboard to download the latest logistics, and repair his bulletproof, Bombproof, Pootytang proof skin.

Just saying.

Looks really good. What are you going to do for cooling in that case? Also, what kind of power supply are you running that will allow you to shutdown the comp cleanly?

Last thing, you sound alot younger then I expected in the video. (or you come across older though the txt)

The main reason for the carputer was to have something to tune the Megasquirt when i go down that road shortly, and also to display 6 guages. If oyu combine the price of guages/ good dvd player/ and laptop this is the better way. As for power supply, its a 200W dc-dc power supply can be found anywhere on ebay.

I've attached a picture of it. The reason they can be that small is because you're not changing voltage from 120V down to 12V and changing from AC to DC.

I am pretty young but a little bit more mature. Just turned 22, but just because i'm young doesn't mean i'm stupid and don't do the research. Also the power will be a constant power to it, but taken out with a switch. This is the cheaper way and i can always keep it on or off. I have no problem shutting it down myself

That's nicely done. That would be great in any car. Keep us posted. Would like to see it during your tuning stages.

DF: Just read up that post, I wish that i could make it that small but I have one problem. As I won't be using the onboard sound card (I really hate bad quality sound) so I bought an Creative X-Fi Xtreme Music card and that is why my whole case needs to be so tall.

But it was a pretty clean install in an rx-8 this is the the second one that I see.

No one claimed otherwise He just said you sounded younger than expected. It's nice work, we're impressed.

I wasn't claiming other wise ... but I usually see a turnaround when i say my age and the stuff that I do. I just find people don't respect you as much when you say you're much younger at times.

i'm surprised you guys didn't jump on that from the beginning lol, of course its there if all fails try the hammer as Manntis Mentioned . lol

Actually it was there because i had to straighten some things on the box thats why.

I had a little mishap today, and hopefully didn't hurt anything still need to test things out. But my positive wire accidentally touched the outside casing of the USB for the touchscreen which is normally a ground and the whole wire went up in smoke, I hope my touchscreen still works otherwise i would be very very pissed.

Are there programs for Windows Lite that run off CANbus data? or what is sending the info to on-screen gauges?

K so i have some new results now with the windows lite. Before my computer would take close to 50 seconds to fully boot up into windows. Right now with windows lite its running at 23 seconds consistently. I might try to update the BIOS and see if there's any more tweaks added (if they have one available that is anyways). But even at 23 seconds i'm pretty happy with that. I would imagine from hibernation it would be about 15 seconds or so.

Also bought a slot loading DVD burner from my buddy, the thing is the size of 2 cd cases stacked ontop of each other just so you know how small this thing is.

Also just wanted to update that the screen is still fine despite that short.

Windows Light, is that whats its called? I tried looking for it on the net and a few of my usual 'download' places, and no such luck. I could really use this on some of the older computers that I have. Got any more specific info on the Lite, slimmed down version of Windows XP you have?
