Carbs?
I know im probably the millionth person to say this......im going to turbo my 12A in my 83'
im use to owning EFI cars and know i want to try turboing a carbed car. but anyway.......
Ive searched and researched for days now for info about the carbs used to do the setups but i still havent found some answers im looking for....
Ive found out that Rotaryshack has a service to modify the stock Nikki Carbs for turbo apps. i have yet to find the cost of said service.
has anyone here ever modified, or know specifically how to mod the stock nikki carbs fo take boost..???
Another Question is what are all the carbs out there that work with a stock port 12A that can accept boost? Prices? i suck at shopping around....
If this Helps anyone in suggesting my setup will follow as listed....
K27 (KKK) Turbo -----------> i know its not the best for the setup...its what i got
Homemade Log Manifold.
1 gen DSM BOV
1 gen DSM SMIC
HOLLEY Fuel Pump ( high flow....cant remember pressure or flowrate)
2 1/2 inch Charge pipes
oil cooler
2 1/2 inch straight pipe exhaust.
Carb hat ( need to purchase yet)
Rats nest and airpump will be removed at time also...
To anyone that can fill in the blanks thank You......to the Vets...sorry for ruining your day will another dumb noob question.....

As far as I know, the only carb you can use with a stock manifold, is a stock Nikki, but you could always have an adapter made, or of course shell out the extra bucks for another manifold. If you want to retain most of your stock components, then your best bet is to send your carb to rotary shack and have them modify it. that way you only have to pay for the work done, instead of buying a whole new carb.

If you are going this route goto cbperformance.com and buy their turbomania book it is good reading and a well spent $15. This book mainly covers vw's but does get into boost preping webers and dellortos and alot of various turbo setups. The book is easy to read lots of pics.
