We're working on both a sunroof and a hood for the FB, also making a TII style scoop for the FB. The fibreglass is going to be way lessexpensive and very little extra weight. Also looking at making a stereo suround with a blanked out stereo opening so you can fit your own. Keep an eye on the Group Buys. Will post pics as they are finished

If you can get 10 people together can do OEM hoods for around US$560. I have vented hoods on the way also . My hoods weigh around 9lbs give or take and Carbon has been vaccum bagged. Please view attatchments for pics of OEM hood and vented.
What's the construction, exactly? How many layers of carbon fiber on how many layers of fiberglass? Is the underside also carbon fiber or painted fiberglass? Is the frame under the hood steel? It sounds like the stock latch doesn't work with your hoods, is that true? Is the finish smooth enough to paint so that you wouldn't see wavyness or texture in the paint?

CF shouldn't have any fibreglass layers and should be CF all the way through, no metal frame is needed. Finish should be very smooth but beware of CF without a polyurethene layer as it will absorb moisture and delaminate unless painted.

Are you talking about yours, or the hoods made by 13 BEEF? See his post above.

I am also interested in the surround for an S2. Will it fit well against the shifter base panel?

The surround pictured in an S1 ('79) will be doing S2/3 very soon and gear stick surrounds in Carbon as well. They aren't too hard to cut, I recommend doing it from the reverse side if using a jigsaw. Will post up some prices soon I have almost finished the prototype. Also have vented headlight covers.

I don't live too terribly far away. Would these require truck freight?

Could just come get it, sans hood.

regular hood, hood with scoop, sunroof, sunroof with scoop, molded headlights no need for motor and flip mechanism, if I can get a sample front airdam, some trim pieces, if the demand is there I'll get them made.

Cool, I'm building a E Mod auto-x car, so lightweight components are on my list of needs. Keep me updated on your progress.
