numan2 : Iam not familiar with carter/edelbrocks but with the holley if it responded like that you would need to squirt more gas with the accelerator pump. Not sure how to accomplish similar feat with the carter style?
no it's not an accelerator pump issue it's a primary venturi being too large and not getting good vaccum response issue. But if you like I can meet you at sunshine before they close the track down (about 3 miles from my house I live in Clearwater) and we could see just what the times are. In fact I'll even run it with my hitachi RX4 carb on it too. Or if you like we could meet at Gandy or Fowler for an un-sanctioned run against my 1/2 bridge tiny little 12A.

Read my post lol. n0luck's assumption of my 16 sec is his imagination. I've never taken the car to the track.

Oooh nice ! ! !

I will defenitly meet you up there ! ! !

But not to run you, atleast not now, Im in the middle of a rebuild. I will go to meet you and hang out, check out your whip! I will run you at Sunshine when I get this done, they wont be closing for atleast a couple of years, and maybe even longer than that!

Let me know when you are going, give a day or so to plan, you ever go to Lakelands Import sundays? I got a some pics from the last time I was their, nice stuff. Check it out in the gallery at:

artisticperformance.com

If you like rotary desktops of some old skool ****, I got some tight desktops in that gallery too . . .

I don't go to lakeland to race....too far to tow if I manage to break anything same thing with DeSoto, besides as close as Sunshine is I could walk home. But I haven't had my 7 to the track yet I'm still tuning the bugs outta it but maybe one day I'll run it out there. But I can say this if it's not fast enough I COULD drop the engine I used to run in my Triumph TR7 in it........406 roller motor but I'd hate to contaminate my 7 with it unless I have to. And 1 more thing LIVESTOCK! in April!!!!

2. So are you too busy living on the internet to grab your ***** in one hand and your $20 bill in the other to go to your local strip and get some #'s to back up your bull ****?

No again. I’m here because I’m bored. What’s your excuse??

3. With these prices you speak of I think they are used junk that needs rebuilds and more parts thrown at, if you buy a new W E B E R (better **** rtentive *****) and intake you are dropping much cash . . . THAT CANT BE DENIED

here's one of the advantage of a 48 IDA over the holley. its good up to a half-bridge. Kinda one size fits all (well not quite) by just changing the venturies. Unlike the holley, you have to get a different one say from a 465 to 600 or even 650. In other words, there is no need to buy a new carb if you decide to promote from a stock 12-A to streetport and to upgrade to a 13-B also including the 6-port motors. Again, its just a matter of changing the venturies. Now, if you go with a bridge or P-Port, you can also get convert it to a 51 for $150.

Iam not talking **** . . .

Where exactly is the **** talking?

"I'm in the bedroom with your wife, stupid!"

personally, you sound like the **** talker . . .
But that is beside the point.

Wackyracer:

You can get webers for a good price? Put your $ where your mouth is. I got a friend who is looking for a small 2 barrel weber, Im not sure what size I know nothing about webers. He is planning on running a turbo set up on a metro, HA, ha, 3 cylinders ! ! ! His plan is to convert to carb and run a blowthru. You know of anything he could pick up? If you need more info on what he wants, I will talk to him to see what he had in mind.

Yeah, to me you are a kid.

Feelings hurt? pluueze. Those here from the West section can handle much more than that. Come visit the West section and you'll see

I'm just saying you're getting nowhere with your attitude, kid.

I'm sure Wackyracer would have hooked you up, but you just came in with the wrong attitude, so that's why I ask, what are you trying to accomplish? Because you seem to be getting nowhere real fast.

stock ports, 113,000 miles.

stock tires (185 width)

Lookit kid, your "I'mz a playa, Yo!" attifuckintude has GOT to go.
This aint no Honduh forum. Pissing off some of the best carb folks on this forum shows that you are either an ignorant kid who doesn't think twice about burning bridges, or an ignorant kid who thinks he already knows everyfuckin thing he needs to, or a very stupid adult.
Wackyracer is one of the most knowledgeable carb people on this forum, and you've been nothing but an ******* to him. Straighten up, appologize, and act your ******* age.

I am new to rotary engines, but the reason weber 48 ida's were costing so much is because the quit making them. They have recently started selling them new again. The set of 2 weber 48 ida's is about $900 in most of the vw mags. as for making fun of VW's with them... I have seen bugs run 10's in the 1/4 not the 1/8th with dual 48's on a good motor. non turbo. this is a car that came with 45hp stock.

sir, you talk about your godly "track" runs yet i see no slips posted here. and it better not be photo shop either.

and how can you get some decent info if u began to run your mouth to folks you barely barely even know?

but i'll do say this.....

"bring 'em out bring 'em out it's hard to yell when the barrels in y0 mouth!"

part of what he doesn't realize is that there aren't many 1/8 mile tracks around so finding 1/8 times is gonna be hard. the track used to be 1/4 until I believe it was Don Garlits couldn't stop fast enough 1 time and ended up in the middle of the highway at the end of the track (this was back in the 70's).

Any track worth a **** will give you an 1/8 mile time and MPH during your 1/4 mile run.

should give you

R/t
60'
330'
1/8 mile et
1/8 mile MPH
1000'
1/4 mile ET
1/4 MPH
