Look at the drawing closely....I remember it showing the barrels/rods being different sizes...also, do a search, I vaguely remember posting my experiences rebuilding the '80 carb and where the different rods go...

The pic of the rebuild kit is still in the dx3600....

The actual drawings in the exploded view show the different sizes if you look carefully at the drawing....that's what I'm getting at, not reading anything at all....looking at just the drawings of the ***** and rods CAREFULLY...

Yeah, I have an 84 nikki that unfortunately is in a million pieces because my godfather and I took it apart, but never put it back together. Ugh... He said that he'd do it the next day or the day after, that was 3 weeks ago and he hasn't touched it.

I wish someone with the know-how would do a nice big visual tutorial on the rebuild... The shop manual sucks majorly.

I would do it, if I had the help of someone who knew his stuff..

What I might do when I have the time is take a picture of each individual part, then play name-that-part with some experts on here... or "name that part and tell me which order to reassemble in!"... hehe.. I'd gladly do a big-huge visual tutorial for everybody with it.

So.. anyone from Ottawa know how to rebuild these?

Jon

I took a bunch of pictures of my 82's Nikki so I could get it back together when I rebuilt it. They're here if you want to take a look at them. There are three pages of pictures. Uses the arrows at the top to move from page to page. Hope this helps.
