Car bogging when I floor gas pedal

Time to pick your brians, Put in new motor in 83 rx7 car boggs when i floor gas pedal but runs smooth if i just press on gas pedal easily. If i go fast its bogs when changing gears as the car goes faster it clears up and runs good any ideas what the hell is going on?

Timing was done right, vaccum leaks where taken care of (as far as I can tell) never done this before new motor was put in was wondering if carb could be problem after being moved in and out during motor swap? or maybe someone has a clue what to look for?

Sounds like vacuum to me. I know you said you took care of it, but. . . .

Could also be the carb.

needs a good tune. my 12a BP did all that with the webber. When i got it tuned it turned out to be running super rich, so it had smaller jets, and i havent had a problem since.

Carb rebuild time. Mine bogged if i got on the gas real hard too, if its not the accelerator pump, its more than likely a float problem needle could be sticking in its seat and not letting any fuel into the bowl, ive seen that too many times to count on my other cars.

dude im having the same problem... thought it was my exhaust, then i thought it was my feul pump, then i thought it was my fuel pressure regluator. fixed all that, and its still doing the same thing as what ur car is... i bought a fuel filter this morning, so im guessing that that isnt going to fix my car..

If you float is stickin then yea a rebuild is the only answer, but its not difficult to do. Rebuild kits should include everything...and they really arent expensive. plus a good working carb means better economy and power than an old worn out gummed up carb. its worth it to rebuild and clean even if its not a float problem.

But why would carb work fine before motor swap and now not work right?
How much would rebuild kit cost?

$35 to $85 dollars; pending purchase location's profit margin...
Took me about a week to rebuild mine as it was my first time and not my daily driver. I took my time.

It's due to neutrino emissions and sunspots. Seriously though, it's one of those things that sometimes happens without any logical explanation. Since I'm not an expert on the 12A Nikki carb, all I can recommend is to check all the linkages and make sure they are functioning correctly. Maybe you bumped the accelerator pump linkage during the carb swap? Maybe the safety return spring slid off its holder and is now preventing full throttle movement? Read about it here. http://members.ij.net/mrmazda/btraps.html#CARBSPRINGS

If the accelerator pump diaphram simply needs replacing, you can order it or probably anything else you'd need for the carb from here. http://www.mazdatrix.com/c-3.htm
