The Purolator Fuel Pressure Report and Poll...

What has been your personal, first-hand experience with this little "jewel".........the poll is multiple choice this time around....

I have had no problems...it's been on two cars, but the most fuel pump it's ever had to face is the Facet fuel pump upgrade...

my car came with one on it. Adjusting it makes no noticable difference to fuel delivery. i think of it like one of those fisherprice work benches... with the red hammers and green plastic screw drivers... yeah. those were cool! so i guess its nothing like them at all. hell... i dunno.

it doesnt do anything!

didn't vote because i'm kinda in between 1 and 2 ...
i honestly don't know what to think about those things. i had one years ago and it was feeding my first setup (Facet/13B/Dell'Orto). it seemed to work fine (in other words, the gauge moved when i spun the dial on the regulator), but as for it being useful ... your guess is as good as mine.

for what it's worth, i don't think i'd use it again today, now that i've used the Holley regulator - and that has nothing to do with what others say about it. besides, i'm going to go FI as soon as i possibly can and then i'll choose choice 3.

Option 1 because I have two or three of them kicking around here, all of which work and can change the level of fuel in the site glasses of my stock carbs. Two were on vehicles when I got them, one of which was used with a dellorto and a Hitachi. The other was purchased before I learned that I should have gotten a Holley reg.

I recently got a Holley reg and it's basically the same price as the purolator. I haven't tried the Holley reg yet.

I had one spontaneously come apart ( in front of a holley red ) and spill fuel all over my ****. Luckily my brother and I were standing there ( not messing with it at all ) with the hood up when it happened.

I KNOW it has the potential to be a real POS !

I have a Holley on my ITA race car and bought one of these for my street car in the interest of saving a few bucks. It did not work out of the box. Took it back and bought a Holley.

Crap! I went through three of them before I got one that worked. Granted, I did hook the first one up backwards for a while before it ate ****. I'm on my third and best one now and it still seeps fuel out from under the dial when it's idling.

Yea, right...Unlike a lot of pretentious folks around some parts, I'll listen or try to understand if something comes up contrary to what I believe or have experienced. The other thread had one too many first hand accounts I had never seen before which made me wonder what the Truth was regarding the Purolator regulator. My own experience has been fine. But that doesn't mean that's a given. Hence, I sought the Truth and lay it all here for my rotary bretheren....curse all of you who voted for Bush, BTW...

I had that exact same thing happen to me with my mr gasket one. It looks exactly like the purolater so i am sure its basically the same. I ended up getting another one and figuring out my problem was the return line was clogged. Hasnt broken yet (new one). (KNOCKS ON WOOD), So I choose 1 so far but it will eventually get upgraded with a holley.

I have a Mr Gasket and two Purolator regs. They all seem to work well enough on stock carbs.
