Yesterday a knowledgeable rotory mechanic advised me that if I would install a Mazda cap & rotor instead of the el-cheapo aftermaket ones I have, it would make a big difference? Can any of you verify this? There's a big difference in price, but performance??

I tried to find a cap with brass inserts to no avail...everything else has aluminum pegs inside...I never noticed a difference amongst Pep Boys caps and caps from Mazdatrix which are sourced from Mazda...

 

No difference in performance but the OEM parts last a lot longer as they have the nice brass contacts. In the long run it will probably work out cheaper.

 

i bought my cap & rotor, and wires from www.mazdaformance.com because they are mazda parts.. the wires are NGK.. blue so far it's worth it.
