I believe that someone has made a post about this in the past, either that or it was a 1st gen starter going on a 2nd gen, but either way SEARCH for it and you might find it. I know that there is something out there about it. Its something like "In case you didnt know" or something like that i believe.

PS - Sorry if I came off sounding mean, I didnt mean to.

t2 starter I doubt it, but I know one from a 85 12A will work on an 88 vert, if you drill the threads out of the starter from the 85

I beleive I posted that, I know that the t2 starter looks way different from an N/A one

He won't need to drill anything because it'll be going into a 1st gen. I fit a 2nd gen NA starter on my 1st gen tranny with a longer bolt and extra nut.

Pops, you'll need the NA style starter because the TII might not work (different ring gear).

The T2 starter will work if you also use a T2 transmission

LOL Jeff, yeah true a 2nd gen NA starter will already be drilled at the top. I was just saying that a 1st gen starter is threaded at the top for the long bolt and a 2nd gen NA isnt, the bolt is also a different thread pattern on a NA 2nd gen. But doesnt really matter on either cuz you have a locking bolt and washer on the back anyway.

@ peejay, True very true, if you use a T2 tranz
