Yes. You can do stuff to it.

It may, or may not have a 13B.

Turbos are easy!

You get them at the junk yard. Just make shure you hook them to the passanger side of the engine.

You can also get a Kia 4.77 rear end out of a sportage at the junk yard. For free if you can fit it in your pocket.

Next time you go to the dentist and he gives you nitrous oxide. DON'T EXHALE!
Hold your breath untill you get back to the RX-7 you might end up getting and breath it into the glove box incase you need it for racing.

FREE! FREE! FREE!

These cars are free to make fast if you remember these three mods.

Good luck and you won't regret getting a 7 if you end up doing so.

^good advice right there. After those three mods, you need to look into upgrading your ECU...at least thats what I've read.

The only model that came with a 13b in the first gen is the GSL-SE all other models have 12a engines. The GSL-SE 13b engine was fuel injected.

You can turbo either a 12a or a 13b, however it will cost you a decent amount. What you need to do first is find out if your engine is has a carb or if its fuel injected, because they both require a different type of set up. After you find that out we can answer other questions but thats a need to know.

just like tsi x said both the 13b or the 12a can be turbo or supercharge the question is how much you have to spend , both will take a considerably amount of money to make them work , if you have the 12a you will need to get the carburator set up for turbo also you will need a turbo exaust manifold usually custom made unless you find one jdm. you will need custom exaust ect. 13b is easier to find the turbo stuff for it you can get yourself a turbo from a tII with manifold and probably everything you need from the junky yard pretty inexpesive or you can you use the same setup for the 12a all you have to do is customise the flange for the exaust manifold and some other minor adjustments and ofcourse like i mentioned prior you will need to get your carb prep for the turbo you will need and intercooler piping ect. any how find out what you have and give us a shout we sure can help you with your project.

rotary shack selves 12A turbo motors, they are only 1200 dollars. I would suggest you travel that road if you don't know much about turbocharging. Then you can upgrade that, and understand a little bit more about what's goin' on in a pressurized motor.

I'd say it's worth it, and turbocharging a 13B is alot easier than a 12A

^^it is?^^

You should put 6 turbos on it. On for each exhaust port, that would be the snizzle!!! But you'll need to shift mad quick yo, to keep them spooled.

^^^^What the hell? A 13B is easier because you can just bolt on all the TII parts. $500 for a GSL-SE is a pretty good deal

6 turbo's, 1 for each exhaust port? Is this on some mystical 6 rotor engine? You mean 1 for each intake port?

Yes, I know it was sarcasm!

you searched and didn't find much relating to 13b and anything about turboing them...ha...you sir are a liar...I would have to say that our search archives couldn't be more complete with tones of writeups on turbo and supercharged 13b's...next time do alittle more than look at the search button and imagine theres nothing...

This is a weekly question posted by the newbies. You will get the gamut of replies, some serious, some not, some can be impolite.

You need to do 2 things. 1. Read the stickies at the top of the 1st gen forum. 2. Learn how to search better. When you have a better understanding of what you are getting into, then start asking questions.

The easy answer to your question is yes, after that you need to decide whether you are up to the challenge mechanicaly, intellectually and financially.

500 is usually a very good price for an SE, depending on condition. The 2 major deciding factors will be condition of the engine, (compression test), and how much rust the body has.

Housings are different yes, but you don't need any of the internals to turbocharge it. Both manifolds should very well bolt right on
