Being somewhat of a historian I can tell you the prev owner tried and failed with an enclosed carb hat and cai set up as it does not work with a carb (I tried that too).

Strange. I had a somewhat of a CAI system on a stock nikki. Worked fine. Then I went back to the stock intake set up, then back to the CAI. The 2nd time it wouldn't go into the secondaries without breaking up reallll bad.

Carb hat is a no no for me

I used a large K&N carb hat and huge 4" inlet filter and it fell of its face over 6000 rmp.

UPDATE: My RPMs are at 2000 so i checked the throthle cable and it wasnt that, i checked for vacuum leaks by spraying carb cleaner and no leaks, What else can it be?
