camden complete

Well my camden project is complete. I initially put the 7" on my stock 140,000km engine and it didn't last long under boost. Adam and the gang at RX7 Specialties did a great job on a rebuild for me. Special thanks to Adam and Brydon with their attention to detail with the ports and to Ryan and Andrew for their efforts with the installation. These guys stayed hours past shop closing sandblasting every bolthead on the engine before final assembley. Brydon picked the engine color and sprayed it, nice choice. There is a 12a camden running here as well, RX7 Specialties did the motor on it over 4 years ago and it's still running strong (and never seen anyone abuse an engine this much!). We went with a big streetport, S5 TII internals & flywheel and RB street/strip clutch. I am running the #8 pulley which would give 8lbs on an older camden but runs up 11lbs on mine, even hit 13 under full load on the highway. Hold it at 3000, drop the clutch and floor it, what a launch! You get 10lbs boost and lots of rubber right out of the hole! It is running with an Edelbrock Thunder series 650 with manual secondaries. Hood clearance was an issue, so I went with a GM HEI offset 14" air cleaner base and a 14" by 2 5/16" K&N air filter. Only thing left to tune is the carb then it will soon hit the track and dyno to get some numbers. Can't beat the nice pitch of the camden as well, quite a head turner. I am running full racing beat exhaust with no cats, nice on cruise and barks on accelartion just right. For those of you who think you can boost an n/a engine with no risk, check the rotor and housing pics.

Forgot to mention, this is an 85 GSL SE and the S rotors were machined out to accomodate custom 3mm seals.

Yea, IrfanView will let you change the size of the images, and you can change the quality to 80% or 90 % without it being noticable...witness:
