If Dan was willing to spring $150 for some R&D, I would run my bridged camden on the dyno and do pulls with the 6,7 & 8 pulley and do one with open exhaust as well. I am both a critic and supporter of the camden based on application. If you want 300+ hp and a drag racer, then forget, if you wanna use stock ports, keep a quiet exhaust and have an awesome streetcar, than I am a supporter. Well Dan, care to chime in and support your product with supporting some postable testing? Last chance before the twincharging project to show your prospective customers some information.

I don't really think Dan would be insterested in handing over $150 to cover some dyno runs. I do agree however that some testing needs to be done so we can get a ballpark power range on the Camden and let those numbers sell the unit.

 

It would be just as inspiring for him to do the pulls i suggest and post a variety of real world results. I am just "offering" to save him the time and some expense and off the rotary world more information. Think of how much "I" have spent in pursuit of more power out of the charger, several different carbs, 3 different pulleys, water methanol. Posting of my results could only benefit his product and help his sales, why should I bother otherwise.

 

Imagine how many pineapple sleeves would get sold with someone posting true before and after dyno results rather than "seat of the pants" impression.

I'm gonna park it for the winter. My dyno contact wasn't available this past weekend, and I work this weekend and i am sure it will be snowing soon here anyway. But when I do test in the spring I'll post results. I may not test before the twincharge project though, but who knows if that will come together anyway.

 

I have a 12a with a fullbridge, a 7" camden, 470cfm holly, and dual msd's
Should I put a 800cfm carb on it?
and right now i am running a #10 pully how many diffrent pullies are there for the camden 7" and which ones will give more boost my boost guage says I am only making 5 psi.

 

Right carb but a 650 would be max. I have run an 850 on mine. #10 pulley is too small, it moves the power band down way too low, a bigger pulley will move the powerband up (higher) where the engine is more capable and make the charger run cooler. Best bet is the #7 pulley. I have run the 6 (10 pis current), 7 (10 psi, earlier boost, works well), 8 (10 psi, earlier boost yet, will peak at 12psi great for a stockport since boost starts to fall off after 6500) and a 10 (hit 20 psi like "right now!", awesome response, but boost quickly fell off, belt squealed no matter what tension and the charger heated up terribly!)

 

well I use to have a 600cfm on a 12a with only a streetport... are you sure you I dont need more?
What size pully are you running now?
Right now on the stock rims and small *** shitty tires I can run 14.3 1/4mi I would like to see something in the 12's for sure.

I never got around to installing my nitrous kit. Engine wasn't done and in until late July. I currently run the #6 however the #7 is my favorite. I tried both an 850 double pumper and a 870 avenger. The edelbrock 650 is still Mr Reliable hands down. The 850 is great to race with and may give a little more topend, but too many other sacrifices. It will have nitrous in the spring for sure, dyno runs will be made at that time for sure as well. As for the twincharging project, it is in it's budget & research state right now.

Camden Supercharger looks nice on a car, sounds nice on the car, but high hp numbers on the car with the Camden on it.....Not going to happen as much as a Turbo.

The biggest reason I dont say a thing on the Supercharger threads is I have been beaten and reneaten so many times that is makes the main guy {Me} making the kits not care and this goes for anyone else that makes new parts or kits for a 20 + year old car..

If you want info than you will have to call me on it....

as for dyno pulles I have had my 82 up to 175RWH or so and that was just tuned enough to surrive on the dyno.. Yes I could have done better with better tuning..

I've always wanted the supercharger. I have a 12A streetport with racing beat 465 and racing beat streetport exhaust. I bought the exhaust from Kim who had the white gs that was supercharged. Her husband said that it was fast and sounded like a formula one car. I wish I could have seen it before she sold it. I also want to know what it would be like. Some say that the supercharger is a waste vs. the turbo, but I don't want to blow my car up trying to get a drag car.
