Bunghole Plugs

I've got a question regarding the plugging of fuel injector bungs (why? what were you thinking?)

I've got a buddy with a GSL-SE engine swapped into a 12A car running a Dellorto DHLA. The PO who put it all together just left the injectors in the block for the sake of maintaining vacuum in the runners. I know that RB and Atkins sell kits to put turned pieces into the bungs to block them off, but what about a simple freeze plug and maybe a little silicone?

Does anyone know the I.D. of the injector bungs in the intermediate plate? I'm not sure there's room under there for a sidedraft and two big aluminum inserts sticking out under the wraparound mani, plus I'd think that simpler is better in nearly every regard.

So, GSL-SE guys, how big are your bungholes?

Thanks man. I tried a 5/8 freeze plug (couldn't find 16mm) today and they were too loose. I'll keep checking, and let me know if you find something.

go with the racing beat kit, its very nicely put together.

If you do decide to custom build something perhaps you should go with ones that look like tom cruise :P

Back in the day, I used bolts about the same size and two-part epoxy-ed them. If you never plan to go back to injection, its cheap and simple.

He is looking for something a bit less bulky and yet not permanent.

Freeze plugs will be the way to go. Need to pick up those 16MM and 16.2MM versions and try them.
