boosted 12a.......cheapest way to get a reliable 200-250hp, just make sure you do your research. im in the process of boosting my 12a but im going to be using an externally gated 50trim. (internally gated turbo's are the devil)

Before you even turn a wrench, get out paper and pencil and start making a list. List should include:
Budget
Skill set
HP goals
Tools on hand and those needed
Parts availability
Reliability/Driveability
Tuneability
Other mods needed to handle the increased hp, i.e., brakes, suspension, steering, fuel system etc..
Once that's done, make a list of all parts needed, along with costs involved, then add at least 20% contingency.
While you're making this list, start reading and researching everything you can on both options. A TII swap will be less finicky, easier to tune, (with a standalone), and upgrade, more forum support than a blowthru, also more expensive.

Damn, it did start!
It is easy to get caught up on what can be done to such a simple engine. I recently had a similar post. Keep you options open, aim for a budget. Do not Aim for a lofty HP goal. I am hoping for 140-180 when I get my engine done. I have seen to many think that they were getting a 300hp monster and not being able to reach that goal. Have fun with the process but dont get into the numbers game to much.
