Brough home the 85 GS last night.

I bough a 1985 GS last night for 500 bucks.

If you read my other post I had to drive it home using the E-brake which wasnt so bad because I took mostly back rounds where no one was around.

She seems to run alright cant really complain except Theres a big puddle of break fluid behind the car and she leaks alot of oil from the top driver side of the engine. I was told it wasnt a major fix, nothin a few hundred bucks cant handle.

Ok I got a question, The car seems REALLY slow like my buddys 84 VW turbo with 65hp keep up with me, well kinda i pulled away but not fast or anything. I think the stock hp is 101 is that correct?

Any way I can tell if the cats are cloged with out taken em out?

The car has been sittin for a while, what do you guys suggest I do right away?

Thanks.
I really like this car and it should be fun to have 2 7's layin around

is the leak near the front or rear? next to the alt or the oil filter? If it is the oil cooler your looking at about 15- 20 dollars and 1/2 hour labor. on the breaks are they leaking in front or rear at the cylenders or calipers?

none the less congrats

peace

1) Fix the Brakes.
2) Make sure the Brakes are working properly,
3) See Number 1

Then,

4) Disconnect the Cats
5) Do the ATF method on her (Do Searches on How)
6) Blow the ATF out of the engine while doing a highway run
7) New Spark plugs
8) Race your friend in the VW
9) Destroy him
10) Smile and enjoy your car from then on.
