I usually get around 20 to 30k on a set of pads. It depends on how far down you want to let them go. Front brakes sometimes wear a lot faster than rears because they do most of the work in stopping the car.

20-30k is low, most can get more than 50k on disk if nothing is dragging and up to par. organics last longer, but most people would opt for a semi-metallic, and most all loaded calipers i've seen come stock with a semi.

but yes brakes do do (ha) 70% of braking

My front brake pads always wear faster than the rear, maybe twice as fast, so make sure you check often if your going to drive them really far down.

Front brakes do approximately 60-70% of the braking and the rears usually last twice as long as the fronts. Pad life will be directly related to type and style of driving, i.e., hard stop and go vs. mostly highway.

Btw, it's brakes, not breaks.

I'd rather quote too low a number than too high. I've rarely gotten 50k on any of my cars brake pads. It all depends on driving style and geography. Here in Pittsburgh the hills eat up brakes really fast. When I lived Kansas and Texas they would last longer. DJAngelicon is in Seattle so its pretty hilly there so I would expect the brakes to wear faster.
