BRAKE light on dash .

Question, no need for trouble shooting .

I, as a habit, always apply my E brake when parked. The light on the Dash comes on yada yada.

Today the light stayed on, so I popped the hood outside of In N out and saw my brake fluid is right on L . Im not worried it's leaking since I replaced brake rotors and pads that were worn to oblivion less than 200 miles ago . Break fluid depletes to compensate for worn pads as it has to fill the gap.

My Main question is

Does the Dash light mark Low fluid AND parking brake, or JUST the parking brake .

EDIT

THe answer to my question is YES, the light indicates both Low fluid And E brake.

( I DO HAVE A OWNERS MANUAL BUT MY GLOVE BOX IS SEALED SHUT WITH TAPE )
I noticed the same thing with my 83 Rx7. Light went away after I added fluid.

The brake light on the cluster will illuminate when the parking brake is applied and when the brake fluid is low. There is a sensor in the side of the master cylinder's reservoir that senses if the fluid drops below a specified amount and will illuminate the brake warning lamp on the instrument cluster if such a condition occurs.

Now with that being said, if your brake fluid is at the low mark you need to inspect your brake linings. The fluid level will drop as the linings wear and when you install new brake pads and or shoes, the fluid level will rise to the full mark once the caliper pistons are compressed. You should not add any brake fluid under normal circumstances. Adding it before replacing the brakes will cause the master cylinder's reservoir to overflow when the caliper pistons are compressed. If your fluid is low and the brakes are in serviceable condition, I would check for a leak in the braking system.

Check your rear wheel cylinders for leaks.

No leaks , The car was sold to me with breaks that were worn to hell. They had groove marks a few mm. deep . The level was above L SLIGHTLY now Its at L . I'm sure it's not leaking , I'm just wondering if the light also alerts me of low fluid

I have to fill my '85 all the way to the top to keep the light from going on when I brake hard.
