NY Fuel Filters w/premix

Looking for input/experience on what people have ran for fuel pumps on their 12a setups WHILE premixing fuel. Do people run less restricted filters, certain materials (mesh or metal), etc? Also looking for a good serviceable unit.

Thanks!

I've had no trouble using the original style fuel filter when premixing. You're not using enough oil that it would clog a filter. And think of it like this, even oil filter elements are paper similar in design to the fuel filter's element. You should be just fine with a stock unit.

I am amused by how often this question comes up.

Oil is a liquid. Filters pass liquid.

I wonder if people think the filters are filtering down to the molecular level and those oil molecules are just so darn big that they won't pass, but the 8ish atom long chains in gasoline pass just fine...

Sure, because the glues used in the manufacture of the filter elements might not be ethanol friendly.

Even the 10% ethanol gas causes the plastic filters to deform and degrade over time, but usually you change them by that time. I know I've pulled mine and it looks all warped and nasty (fram clear plastic ones). Its not heat or a dirty tank, its just the plastic reacting with the fuel.
