Boost Leak with StreetPort

Can you turbocharge a streetport without getting boost leak running relatively low boost? will a turbo SP make more power than stock ports? i know a bridge port will have boost leak but i was wondering about SP. do any of you have turboed SPs?

Turbo's and porting go hand in hand! There's plenty of bridge and peripheral port turbo engines floating around. You can generally expect similar gains as you would from an na engine and it allows you to make more power on less boost.

These are the "street" ports RICE RACING runs on his 500hp, 200mph street 1st gen. Note the huge exhaust ports you can fit your hand through.

If you want to learn more search the Rotary Performance section.

HOLY ****!!!!!

MY OH MY OH MY OH MY!!!!!!!!!

Thats.... You could shove a kitten through that!

MY GOD!

If it was turbo, what rpm do you think it would start making power?!?!?! Doesnt opening up the exhaust port and the shape confirm where the power band is gonna lie?

Thanks, Laterz, Andrew

REVHED, your pic didn't show up on my end. I'd like to see a port that could swallow a kitten.

Oh ok, it's a geocities thing. Just click this here: http://www.geocities.com/riceracinga...stcloseup1.jpg and then grab the little 'e' icon in the upper left and drag it over the URL and then drop it. It refreshes the page and any geocities pic will always show up. It's a cool trick and lots easier than having to copy and paste the URL and all that.

Woah! A large square port! I bet that's really loud; or it would be without a turbo. I bet the low end torque is still usable too with the forceful pulsing nature of that style of port.

i read that the port overlap allows the intake boost to leak into the exhaust...or is this prevented because the exhaust pressure stops it from doing so?
