Im not sure the specific part you are talking about with that description, but would it be the same for a metal sunroof?

You are refering to the black button shaped bolts that fit thru the glass. They are different from the metal roof hardware as these stick outside the glass moonroof. They are not available via Victoria British as I have checked the catalog in my search to replace all of my bolts. The glass moonroof was manufactured by Mazda and was discontinued in +-1991 by the Mazda per the parts dept. here. Mazda does not carry any hardware for it anymore and a local moonroof/restyling shop told me my only option was to fabricate a solution from various pieces at hardware store. I replaced all 4 bolts several months ago as mine rusted and chipped. The rubber washer gets brittle and disintegrates also. What I did was tried to find substitute bolts, nylon spacers, screws, threaded wellnuts, etc. at Home Depot and Lowes. I had no luck there. They have a small selection. You will have to find an old timey, bona- fide hardware store like a True Value or Ace or preferably some local name. They will have the best selection of hardware parts. I just took my whole glass sunroof into their work table and spent an hour and a half trying different combinations. Use only stainless steel bolts and nuts which will not rust and will blend well with the car and put a thin black rubber washer or 2 between the glass and bolt. These washers will one day need replacing but that is simple. Use a razor knife to trim excess rubber that sticks out beyond the bolt. The bolt should have a rounded button shape. I am very pleased with how my project turned out. I had to drill out the factory bolts as they rusted and got frozen when the button bolt began rusting and chipping. I had to use a screw that was slightly larger than the precut holes in the black composite curved hinge that fits into the car body but that just made it fit better (tighter). It will not loosen the fit by putting the screw in and out several times as this composite material expands and contracts slightly to fit the threads. The only tricky part is finding the right diameter and length bolts, correct sized and diameter washers, a nylon spacer or deep rubber washer or threaded wellnut (deep washer with metal threads on the inside) and a stainless nut to fit into the curved composite hinge (which is on the underside of the moonroof and connects to the body when fitting the moonroof on the car). Good luck, I hope this experience helps, and pm me if you want me to try and find the size of the bolts that I used (if I saved the package that they came in) or if you have how-to questions-I have a US toll free 877 # at work.

I modifyed one of the buttons from the rear glass by just cutting down a few threads and the screw if you take one out of your hatch it will be easy to see what part I cut off (the head of the button is bigger than the original but you could replace all of them)

I thought about that. I didnt get as far as mating one up to the glass, but I never have any spares because my too-strong hatch struts keep breaking them.

Mark,
By "set" I mean one button, one screw, and everything between those two pieces except the glass.

Yeah, i understand. just pm me where to send to. There
'on-the-house' . they use a philips screw and one very flat washer/plastic tab/glass/button.. The plastic tabs are there to keep the roof from rattleing and squeeking
as bad-vs- a metal tab and metal roof.

Victoria British sells all the metal sunroof hardware parts but they do not sell the Mazda OEM GLASS MOONROOF parts I described in my earlier post and which a previous poster pictured.

Sometimes the plastic tabs break, all of the hardware from the metal roofs can be used on the glass roofs.
the screw/washer/metal tab. the screw is the same size
and will fit the button. when the rubber dries out on the buttons, just use silicon around the hole on the glass roof, place the button on,and let dry. Then use a exato knife to trim off the access for waterproofing. but some sort of 'gasket' is needed for a ,,no metal-to-glass type deal.
