body replacement Q's

Ok i now have my 85 in good mechanical shape so now i move onto the body. Which is not my area of expertise. So what would be the best way to fix a bad case of cancer on the back right fender behind the wheel it is just at the bottom of it. I was wondering if i should try and shape in a peice of metal or if there was a body kit that would hide it? Any ideas are very appreciated.

thanks
dan

ps if a pic would help let me know and i will get one.

Any good body shop can chop out the offending rust-tumoured piece, bash a piece of sheet steel into proper shape and weld it on. Paint conceals the job and it looks new again.

Had it done on both an Audi GT Coupé and a Datsun 280ZX in the past.

Hey, I just noticed your bumper has that weird scraped stuff on it too. Like someone rear ended you and the bumber scraped the paint. Does everyone have that?

Did that make any sense?

most body kits I can think of will cover that up.

I have the same problem but not nearly as bad.

I am just going to grind and paint it and then cover it with the body kit.

Alas, I have the same problem, just not as bad. I was thinking of taking a good body and putting everything into it. Anyone have a *mint* 84-85 GSL body??

thanks for the help guys. If have found several wrecked sevens and a few with just blown motors. And it is weird that I only have this problem on one side and there is no other rust anywhere else on the car. yesterday i got a new front fender and alot of parts and a supercharger off a 280zx. so i got some more toys to play with now But thanks and if you need anything a from a car let me know i got it or i migfht run a across it, it bad when the junkyard calls when they get in any rx7's. or is that a good thing?
