What kinda kit should I put on my 82 GSL Rx-7?

Please... and what can I do to the engine from what I know its just the Original engine

if you mean by "what can I do to the engine" "what performance modifications can I do to make my car go faster", there's TONS!

searching will provide MANY results, as will just browsing the first few pages of the section.

A brief overview:

these cars are just like most, the usual modifications go:

exhaust system
intake system
weight reduction

those are the three basic categories.

you can buy a full racing beat header/presilencer/muffler system, that'll free up some ponies

fuel induction; you can do lots of options, from a better carb (weber, holley, dell'orto, etc), to just tuning your existing carbuerator to work more efficiently, producing more power as well.

weight reduction:

my god, you can get rid of tons of weight. remove your Air conditioning, power steering, interior pieces, the asphalt sound deadening material on the inside of the car, the rat's nest on the engine, etc

another thing to consider is putting an electric fan on the car.


if you don't understand any of what I've just said, search for the terms, as they've all been covered quite in-depth many times before.


about the body kit - it's a personal preference. if you ask that here, you'll just get a shitload of "rice" or "not rice" arguements, as well as lots of personal opinions. Do what you think looks nice, and don't worry about what other people think... Basically, every body kit will be suggested anyways, and you'll be no further ahead than you were to begin with, unless of course you don't KNOW the different body kits out there...

Well Damn, I Like that body kit, its cool, My budget is decent, I just bought my car 8 days ago I want to find a good kit at a good price and all the ones i m seeing are like 1500 which is alot to me. Im only 16 so yaa ya know? Any websites that have a cheap body kit that looks cool?

I found some on Mariah 227 for like a front the black one posted earleir. Do you guys know how the ship it? etc Or what they do? How much is a general black paintjob btw?

Try checking Racing Beat or Mazdatrix. They have the same nose piece and they are alot closer to you(both in CA). It would be cheaper on the shipping than going through Erebuni(New York). Mariah is also in CA. I have the "standard" Mazdatrix kit with a redesigned nose and the Wings West Super wing.

With you having an 82, it kinda hard to find wheels with the odd bolt pattern(4x110). You can find from 13"-15" in that pattern. I currently have 15x7 ROH Snypers. You could go with 16"-17" as long as you have the cash to have them made or change your suspension to a GSL-SE which has a different(and common 4x4.5 I think) bolt pattern.

Coool, I kinda get it, but changing to GSL-SE is to much for me I think I might get the Black front body thats up there then the 3 piece side skirt from Mariah WIll that work good? You can order in any color right? How much is the usual shipping cost? And what is a good Tght looking spoiler could you give em a link?

Depends on where you take it. Generally, the more expensive it is, the higher quality it'll be, and the longer it'll last. Go to a few shops in town, look at some of their results, find one you like. Black is one of the hardest colors to paint, as EVERY imperfection shows up. If you have one tiny little dent, it'll be VERY easy to spot.

If you want an easy color to paint, and hide blemishes (for example, if you did it yourself), do a lighter color; yellow, white, orange, red, light blue, lime green, etc.
