Rear Drum Brakes

I know they are meant to be self adjusting, but mine are not. If I manually adjust them they'll stay great for a few days, then get worse and worse until the e-brake barely works and the pedal doesn't grab until 1/2 way through its travel.

I rebuilt both sides a few weeks ago. In the spring kit there were 3 springs for each side. One large one for on top, one medium one for on bottom, and another smaller one that I have no clue what to do with. I'm guessing it's what does the adjusting, but I have no clue where to put it. Anyone know where it goes? Or is it just for a different model and the adjusting problem is something else?

How do I put it on the star wheel, and what else do I connect it to? I never got to see one assembled right, so I was just guessing putting them together.

The small arms that are connected to each other, on the left side of the hub,That spring adds tension from the arm that moves the star wheel (adjuster) No book ?
visit a junkyard and disassemble the rear drum brakes.
use a camera if you can as a visual aid,,later. Before
i jump into something i've not done before, i go to the junkyard and use those cars to learn on first.

Get a manual with diagrams - 'guessing' and assembling brakes with parts left over isn't a good thing. Going and driving with those brakes is even less a good thing
